BW Homes Breaks Ground on 3rd Home for Guardian Angels of SWFL
Bruce Williams Homes has always had a commitment to the community. Late last week they continued with that tradition as they began construction on the third home they will be building for Guardian Angels of SW Florida.
In 2011 BW Homes and Guardian Angels announced that they would be partnering on an effort to help some of our community’s most vulnerable children. In April 2013, Bruce Williams Homes completed the first 2 homes for the Manasota Project, which is located off Ellenton-Gillette Road in Palmetto. Completion of this third home is expected to be in March 2015.
“We are honored to continue our relationship with Guardian Angels of SWFL and Florida Baptist Children’s Home”, said Britt Williams, President of BW Homes. “These two organizations are very near and dear to me and being able to assist them at this level is something that we take great pride in. Also, I would be remiss to not mention all of our trade partners that step up each time we ask. Without them, we would not be able to build this great home for another foster family to enjoy”.
Unlike traditional foster homes, in which the parents take children into their homes, with the Foster Family Homes, the parents and children move into the home together. The homes, which are, are 6 bedroom/6.5 bath homes and the married couples who will live in them will not pay rent, only utilities. They will be required to meet state standards to qualify as foster parents as well as meet the requirements of Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, a faith-based non-profit who will supervise them.
